Power Outages: What to Expect & Why Safety Comes First

Posts

We know power outages are frustrating. When your lights go out, the first thing you want to know is simple: When will power be back on?

The honest answer is that ETAs are tough — whether an outage is planned or unplanned. Once crews are on scene and begin troubleshooting, timelines can change… sometimes more than once. Until the full issue is identified and safely addressed, any estimate is just that — an estimate.

Safety is our top priority.

That means the safety of our electric crews and the safety of you, our residents. Power-related work is dangerous by nature. It involves live equipment, underground lines, traffic hazards, and unpredictable conditions. Because of that, outages are rarely a “quick fix.”

Our crews work carefully and methodically to restore power the right way — not the fastest way. Rushing electrical work puts people at risk and can lead to bigger problems down the line.

We understand outages can be inconvenient and, at times, upsetting. Your frustration is valid. But every delay you experience is tied to one goal: making sure everyone goes home safely and your service is restored correctly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding when outages happen. We truly appreciate it.
