Dr. Greg Carter has been hired as the manager of the West Plains Public Library. He joins the City of West Plains after 15 years in education.
Carter currently serves as the Coordinator of Elementary Teaching and Learning for the West Plains School district. During his tenure, he has taught every grade level K-12, including core and elective classes, and spent four years as Library Media Technology Integration Specialist at the West Plains Elementary School.
“I am thrilled to join the City of West Plains and feel honored for the opportunity to serve the community through library services,” said Carter.
Carter has received academic degrees from Missouri State University, William Woods University, University of Missouri, and a doctorate from Saint Louis University.
“Greg’s experience in library management and his passion for promoting literacy made him an ideal candidate for library manager,” said Community Service Director Todd Shanks. “He will be a tremendous asset to our library patrons and to the West Plains community.”
