The City of West Plains is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting community initiative: a contest to redesign the city’s official seal. The current seal—which literally just says “seal”—leaves plenty of room for creativity. Let’s improve upon this and create something truly reflective of our city’s identity. This is a unique opportunity for residents to leave their creative mark on the city’s legacy. The winning design will become the official seal used on all city documents and materials, symbolizing West Plains’ history, culture, and vision for the future.
How to Participate: Residents of all ages and artistic abilities are invited to submit their designs. The contest is open to individuals or groups, with the following guidelines:
Theme: Designs must be circular and should represent the spirit and identity of West Plains, incorporating elements that reflect its natural beauty, history, and/or community values.
Submission Format: All designs must be submitted digitally. Hand-drawn designs should be scanned and emailed. Digital designs should be sent as high-resolution files (JPG, PNG, or PDF).
Submission Email: Send all entries to seal@westplains.gov.
Deadline: Submissions must be received by Friday, February 14.
Selection Process: A panel of judges will review all entries and select five finalists based on creativity, adherence to the theme, and representation of West Plains. The community will then vote on the top designs to choose the winner.
Prize: While there is no monetary reward, the winner will receive:
Public recognition at a city council meeting. A feature in a press release and on the city’s social media platforms. The honor of having their design represent the City of West Plains on official documents.
